BUS OF PREVENTION (2018-2019)

Since 2013 the German cooperation, GIZ - education program and Health Focus have been working together with the Ministry of Education and Human Development, MINEDH, in the implementation of its 2012-2016 Strategic Plan, the HIV program in the workplace. Children, adolescents, in particular girls and young women, receive basic training and high quality vocational training oriented towards life and the labor market. The HIV Workplace Program in the Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Human Development is implemented and shows effectiveness in reducing teacher absences due to illness.

In this context, the association Positivo Mozambique was given the task of promoting the IEC Material of the HIV Program in the Education sector in Health Fairs through the use of participatory methods and cultural tools such as music, theater, animation, projection of films and debates. In the pilot stage, the messages, the content of the songs, the plays and the projection of films with debates must be developed and tested. Activities should be implemented in coordination with Health Focus and the Provincial Human Resources Department, more specifically in a pilot phase at a Teacher Training Institute (IFP) and in a province district.

PILOT

The two events at Teacher Training Institute (IFP) Chicuque and at IFP Homoine presented interesting results. These results were measured in a number of ways, using official tools of the HIV workplace program, as well as tools from the Positivo Mozambique association. In each event, the applied methodology privileged the participatory approach.
